Can you believe 2021 is almost here?! This year has been full of craziness and we have all been through so much. Although, this new year may not feel like how we are used to, we can still look forward to starting a new year of our life off on the right foot. We have gathered together some of our favorite organizational tips to start 2021 off the right way!!

Set Goals

I am sure we have all made a resolution or two over the years and I am even more sure that we have all broken those resolutions a few weeks into the new year. Instead of placing a large resolution on yourself this year, take the time to create some goals you would like to look forward to in the upcoming year. Set small achievable goals that you can build on throughout the year. For example, if you want to drink more water just take it day by day instead of saying “this whole year I am going to drink 60 ounces of water every day”. It proven the more that you do something the more it becomes part of your lifestyle and daily routine. Planning on something for an entire year can be overwhelming. Whether they are long-term goals or many short-term goals to accomplish, goal setting will help to give you something to look forward to without feeling as burdening as a “new year resolution”! Planner Life!

Using a planner to keep up with all daily tasks, appointments, and scheduled true40 classes 😉 is one of the best ways to stay organized!! There are a variety of planners out there that can work with your scheduling needs. Here at True40 one of our favorites is the Erin Condren planner!! With Erin Condren, you can design your own cover or select from their interchangeable designed covers as well as select the inside of your planner to suit all of your needs. Check them out at Erin Condren! Oh and of course, don’t forget to get all the fun colored pens and accessories for your daily planning! Once you get your planner, you can use it to write down those daily goals we talked about above. Seeing written down in your planner can be that gentle reminder of the goal you’re trying to achieve. If you aren’t one to keep a physical planner, use your phone! You can use the calendar that comes with your phone, you can try out Google Calendar or check out some of these planning apps people are raving about 2021.

Brain Dump

One way to keep up with daily organization is to start each day with a “brain dump”. Take some time first thing in the morning and write out all the things that come to mind when thinking of that day’s schedule or things to accomplish. Getting all of that out of your brain and on to paper will help you schedule out your day and prioritize what all needs to be done. Starting each day with a fresh, decluttered brain will allow you to smoothly delegate tasks within each day. To take it a step further, you could start the morning with some meditation to get your day going in a focused way.

Declutter Your Space

Our environment tends to greatly impact our head space and can be a reflection of our internal organizational skills. Especially after the holiday season, our space may not be feeling as neat as we would like it to be. Starting the new year with a fresh space is one of the best ways to start off on the right foot! Set aside a few hours to clean off your workspace or even areas of your house. If decluttering your home feels overwhelming, break it up into areas or rooms to make the task feel much more manageable. Check out this article from The Spruce about how to go about decluttering your home, room by room.
