Whether you’re traveling a lot or not, summer is always the perfect time to grab a new book! But then you walk into the bookstore and get so overwhelmed you end up leaving without even getting a new book! A few of our girls have some favorite books they wanted to share with y’all!!

Our summer intern, Molly Porter’s favorite book right now is The Magnolia Story by Joanna and Chip Gaines! It’s the perfect read for the summer. She LOVES the show Fixer Upper and reading their story about how it began, their ups and downs, and seeing how their faith in The Lord was steadfast was not only fun but encouraging. Everyone should read it!

Studio manager and instructor, Kristin Taylor’s favorite book is Great Divorce. This book is full of imagination and theological insight. Great Divorce combines these two elements very well. If she is ever looking for an easy read, her go-to is Harry Potter. Kristin loves fantasy books as well as any adventure story that has the concept of good versus evil.

Our Marketing Coordinator, Caitlin Cole’s all time favorite book is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. It tells the bible story of Hosea, but in a storybook way that makes you feel like you are walking in the pages with the characters. But she is currently reading a collection of seven different C.S. Lewis books that are some of his classics. C.S Lewis is one of Caitlin’s favorite writers because he gives deep theological thoughts and challenges while keeping the imagination in the pages.

Instructor, Emily Simpson has several different books that she loves. One of them is Bonhoeffer by Eric Metaxis. It has deeply influenced the way she desires to live her life in service to the Lord, whatever the cost.

The Prodigal God by Tim Keller was earth shattering for Emily and made her understand the gospel in a whole new light. That we are all sinful whether we are acting like the older brother or the younger brother in the story, and the Lord responds with lavish love.

Emily also loves Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. She loves the imaginative world of the stories of J.K. Rowling created. Secretly, Emily is still waiting for her letter from Hogwarts.

Some of our other favorite books are The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, The Noticer by Andy Andrews, and The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks! Let us know some of your favorite books too!
